Kaiyodo’s partnership with sculptor Takeyuki Takeya has created magnificent creatures, deities, and more in the Revoltech Jizai Okimono line, and up next is the second armored knight based on historical designs: 15TH CENTURY GOTHIC EQUESTRIAN ARMOR! Unlike the previous Field Armor action figure, this one is specially designed for a soldier to fight from horseback, and the set includes an equine partner equipped with its own armor.
The Gothic Equestrian Armor is upgraded from the Field version with new parts so that it can ride the horse, as well as with additional side armpit protection for when the soldier is holding reins and a newly modeled helm that doesn’t get in the way of riding poses. Both knight and horse wear gothic armor right out of the 15th century, covered in that era’s signature raised ridges and intricately detailed with overlapping plates, hinges, rivets, armor fasteners, and much more.
There are even real metal reins, and the set comes with multiple interchangeable hands, a decorative base, and both horse lance and pole axe weapons! Meanwhile, the loyal horse has its own matching armor protection with special features like a decorated helmet, chain mail at the throat, and even a saddle fitted to guard the rider. Both rider (just under 6 inches tall) and horse (7 inches long) are also fully kitted out with Revoltech revolver joints, with no fewer than 15 points of articulation in the knight and 21 in the animal! You’ll be amazed at the range of poses this pair can achieve including charging the enemy, rearing up, and at rest; the possibilities are endless. Defend your castle with this armored duo!
